the restoration of the Steve Cowdin GRantahm Stardust will be highlighted on this page.  Steve's car is 1 of 4 known survivors of the 1950's Stardusts.  This project is the biggest restoration project undertaken by steve.  It will take a team to get this project Completed.  

 

HISTORICAL ADVISER:  Geoff Hacker is the formost world's expert on the history of Fiberglass Automobiles from the 1950's.  He has a breath taking website at undiscoveredclassics.com  Geoff has also built up a gigantic collection of fiberglass cars and other Specials, nearing 100 vehicles.  I have known Geoff since 2005, and he has become part of our family over the years.  

 

FIBERGLASS BODY and LEAD FABRICATOR:  Dick Shelton of Colorado Springs has been building interiors, hot rodding, fabricating, and collecting for decades.  He worked his magic with a flawless custom interior on my recently restored 1953 Micklitsch.  Dick also fabricated special items such as the lower stainless trim, stainless bumpers, aluminum and polycarbonate knobs on that project.  Dick has his own shop and has a collection of hot rods.  

 

MEDIA BLASTING and POWDER COATING:  Tim Meyer of Colorado Springs is the owner and operater American Stripping and Powder Coating.  Tim media blasted the frame on the 1953 Micklitsch.  He straightened the frame and then repaired 12 broken welds.  Tim has built up a collection of cars and parts cars, last time we chatted he had around 60.  

 

PAINT:  Rob DeMasters of Colorado Springs is a painter of custom and restored cars.  Rob is a hot rodder and he has built a number of cars, some that he still owns.  Rob performed the fiberglass repairs, prepped the body and applied the gorgeous cream white paint to the 1953 Micklitsch.
